Over the past 20 years, a few of the Lig & Ceptor founders have done their best to keep people healthy by providing medical care at Burning Man.
Some may wonder how a company dedicated to plants and promoting the healing benefits of the natural world can also support a festival that has been criticized for creating a large carbon footprint. That is a fair question. The answer is, Burning Man reflects what is happening in the rest of the world. Many “burners”, including those at Lig & Ceptor have acknowledged the need to live in a more sustainable way. The Burning Man Organization has pledged to be carbon neutral and ecologically regenerative by 2030, and they are well on their way to achieving this. Lig & Ceptor is also making tangible efforts in this direction.
Burning Man is a place of inspiration, where people from all over the planet have figured out how to live together peacefully. I don’t mean co- exist. I mean really live – to celebrate, grieve, build, clean, dance, problem solve and collaborate in a beautiful way.
This year, Burning Man was one of the hottest and driest ever, and collectively we experienced an even deeper appreciation for the trees that give us shade, the plants that nourish us and the water that sustains us. At Lig & Ceptor, we have left the desert with a renewed commitment to the planet and to healing. We’re also returning home inspired, having encountered visionaries and leaders who are actively making this world a healthier place. We look forward to watching as sparks of inspiration spread and ignite across the world. 🔥
